Please can you list the Jewish names of the 12 disciples. Some of them, eg. Andrew do not seem to have Jewish roots at all.

To the best of my knowledge at this time, some of the talmidim didnt have Hebrew names or Jewish roots. First names, surnames and even renames were common in that part of the East and at that time. These are the names of the twelve talmidim as given in Hebrew:

"Shimon called Kefa, and

Andrew his brother,

Yaakov Ben-Zavdai and

Yochanan his brother,

Philip and

Toma and

Mattitayahu the tax-collector,

Yaakov Bar-Halfai and

Shimon the Zealot, and

Yhudah from Kriot, who betrayed him"

(quoted from Mattityahu 10:2-4). If you can read Hebrew and are interested in seeing the names transliterated from the Greek originals, but written in the Hebrew tongue, then I recommend the complete Bible as it is presented in Hebrew, Torah, Neviim, Ktuvim vhaBrit haChadashah, published by The Bible Society in Israel. Here is how they appear there (transliterated by myself):

"Shimon haMchuneh Kefa, v-

Andre achiv,

Yaakov Ben-Zavdai, v-

Yochanan achiv,

Toma, v-

Mattai haMochayss,

Yaakov Ben-Chalfai, v-

Shimon haKanai, v-

Yhudah Ish Kriot, ha-Ish shemasar otoh"

(quoted from the above said Bible).
